Our Vision:

Build a world with equitable access to sanitation for the Bottom of the Pyramid communities.

Our Mission:

Improving lives and livelihoods via provision of safe and clean sanitation access.

Our Background

LOTA+ is an international social enterprise offering circular off-grid wet sanitation solutions for individual households in settlements with improper sanitation facilities.

Throughout the past year, the LOTA+ solution took shape and the elements of the solution were developed through different projects and partnerships. The early beginnings of the LOTA+ idea go back to 2014 in India when the trio of architecture students Ankit Sati, Eingeel Khan and Zeeshan Husain worked in an extended team together on industrial design solutions of varied toilet systems in college. The project was awarded by many institutions in India and won the FINISH Innovation Design Contest as well. Further in 2020, funded by NUS (National University of Singapore) Innovation Grant, the technological development of the toilet was improved towards scale via mentorship by Jack Sim through his years of experience in the field. Intensive pilot activities of LOTA+ have been conducted in cooperation with varies partners, such as the NGO AARAMBH and Wika Fatimah from Bandung Institute of Technology in various parts of India and Indonesia.
